A VERY BRIEF INTRODUCTION
When I began my career, my experience in strength & conditioning was limited to making collegiate athletes bigger, faster and stronger. However, I soon realized that our industry was focused so much on the "best" exercise or the latest scientific research that we forgot about some of the most basic human needs. Drinking enough water, eating natural foods that provide us with energy, having an opportunity to earn enough sleep every night, spending quality time with others, having meaningful conversations, and so on. During my learning process as a strength & conditioning coach, I began to seek a deeper understanding by studying human psychology, different interpretations of spirituality and philosophy. By expanding my knowledge outside of fitness and wellness, I was able to begin to connect the dots between these different areas on a larger scale. My passion for learning and deeper understanding led to 1.5 years of developing a research project on the well-being of collegiate student-athletes with a focus on sleep,. The findings were quite disturbing.....
Only 4 of 134 participants reported to earn enough sleep on a consistent basis and MORE THAN HALF reported to earn less than 6 hours of sleep 2x or more per week. Although this is a small sample size, we can cautiously assume that most college students have had a similar experience; poor quality food options, long study hours, all nighters, early morning training and late night partying. College students eventually graduate, and likely continue some of these poor habits until their body can't handle it anymore and makes the executive decision to slow down. These habits and experiences aren't only limited to college students. If it were possible to conduct a long-term study on human-beings in Western society (and arguably, across the world),
I think and feel that the results would show something even more dramatic:
A majority of humans are shallow breathers who live in a dehydrated, malnourished, and sleep-deprived state. Additionally, even more people are addicted to some form of technology which has had limiting effects on one's attention span, as technology is constantly pulling our focus in different directions.
This statement is not to be taken personally, but quite seriously.
We can't change the exterior world, but we CAN change our perception and how we navigate through it. Imagine how amazing you would feel if the millions of cells in your body were bathed in water, your body filled with clean air, energized with wholesome foods and well rested to conquer the day ahead. What if you did this for 3 days in a row? A week? A month? Imagine what the ripple effect would become.....
As far as I'm concerned, there is more to enjoy in this short life and it is available to us if we want it. This is not an easy challenge, but it is very possible.
I intend to bridge the gap between Western and Eastern ways of thinking to provide a strength & conditioning experience that all human beings can benefit from... an experience that touches all quadrants of your well-being.
We all differ by degree, but we are all humans that desire happiness, health and success in life, aren't we?

Meditation - We live in a world of chaos that causes our minds to be all over the place. At the beginning of every training session, you will be guided through an internal meditation and 3D full body scan to focus on your training session.
Visualization - Once you're grounded, you will narrow your focus by visualizing your performance and setting a personal goal for the training session ahead, which serves as a stepping stone towards your long-term goals.
Positive Self-Talk - To finish every training session, we congratulate each other and thank ourselves for committing 1-hour to improving ourself and our teammates.

Training for your purpose begins with asking yourself, "What is my purpose?" and "Why do I want to train?" Once you've found your motivation, your efforts become more focused on bettering yourself. We do not exercise. We do not workout. We Train.
Performance Breathing - once you've set your training session goal, we transition into Box Breathing to focus the mind on being right here, right now. Various breathing techniques are integral to all aspects of the training session, whether during the warm up, performing exercises, or cooling down.
Body Preparation - an intentional full body warm up that prepares the body for the upcoming training session. The warm up is an assessment and the assessment is a warm up.
Training Program - based on simple principles and appropriate progressions, all training programs are easily adaptable to your unique starting point.
